A YEAR IN YRE
The Youth Religious Exploration (YRE) program holds a variety of
intergenerational social events and celebrations, including:
We Celebrate a Wide Range of Holidays and Occasions Unitarian Universalists (UUs) honor and celebrate various holidays and occasions over a year. Unlike other faith traditions that use a single lectionary (a collection of scripture readings appointed for a given day or occasion), the topics and themes for Unitarian Universalist worship services are usually chosen independently by worship leaders in congregations. These include unique UU traditions, like the Flower ceremony, and holidays from other faith traditions such as Christmas or Solstice.
A Year in YRE
The Youth Religious Exploration (YRE) program holds a variety of intergenerational social events and celebrations, including:
Our YRE program takes place each Sunday in our Education Center. It involves lessons, stories, play time, art, and nature.
Children love our unique ukulele classes where they get to learn an instrument all by themselves!
On a select few Sundays we take the classroom outdoors where children have the opportunity to learn about gardening, nature, and butterflies.
We have a healthy, active youth group that meets periodically throughout the month. Sometimes they attend events together or take UU-inspired courses.
Our youth are as curious and introspective as ever in their teen years. Our specialty programs such as OWL and Bridging to Young Adulthood help them grapple with becoming an adult on their own terms.
Youth Social Activities
Find our youth group out on the town or at the beach having fun and spending quality time together!
RE & YRE
Both children and adults have the opportunity to explore Religious Education. Children join our YRE classrooms (both inside and in our gardens.) Adults learn more about UU and develop their own spiritual journey.
FAMILY SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
We produce a number of intergenerational activities for the entire family!
AFTER CHURCH SOCIALS
Join us after church on our patio as we make new friends and catch up with old ones. A children's table is setup outside with supervision and activities.
