Weekend Meals Committee OVERVIEW

In the midst of comfort and affluence, many children in our local communities rely on school-supplied meals for their nutritional needs during the week but will not be assured of healthy meals on the weekends. In response to this need in our community, volunteers from the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Greater Naples (UUCGN) work closely with school counselors to identify children who would benefit from weekend food security.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Purchase, pack, and bag food to feed children on the weekend. We do these tasks together and often have fun while we're at it!
Fundraise by seeking donors and sponsors of our program to continue increasing the number of schools we support. No child should go hungry
We also invite non-members to become involved as we prepare the bags of food on Wednesday mornings and deliver the food to the schools on the same day. Please consider volunteering your time to help these children.
Collaborate with YRE, giving our children opportunities to volunteer and support other children by packing and delivering meals.
