Are you looking for ways to deepen your connection with other UUCGN folks? Looking for ways to deepen your sense of self in this chaotic world? Consider joining a Chalice Circle.
Chalice Circles are a form of Small Group Ministry. Groups of 6 to 10 people meet regularly — in our case twice a month — to reflect, to share deeply, and to listen without judgment about concerns of the heart and mind. Chalice Circles are great places to get to know other people and to get to know yourself better. Over time, participants develop deep connections with one another, with the congregation, and with their spirituality. Topics will range from “Soul” to “Fair Is Fair”, “Happiness” and “Bucket Lists.” Each gathering is structured and facilitated by a member of the congregation who is trained in facilitation. Participants are encouraged to share their stories and learn how to listen deeply without judgment to others.
The six-month Chalice Circles will begin in mid-November and continue through April. We will offer three-month Chalice Circles beginning in January.
The program runs from November through May. It is open to seasonal as well as year-round residents. Seasonal residents or newcomers are welcome to join a group at any time. Visitors and drop-ins are not allowed. To ensure diversity, groups are planned, not self-selected.
All meetings are held at UUCGN. Building a relationship of trust and bonding among group members is necessary to providing an atmosphere for open discussion and sharing. This can only occur with regular attendance.
Therefore, it should be understood that joining involves a commitment to attend every monthly meeting possible. We ask that prospective members whose other obligations are likely to interfere with regular attendance defer joining until they are able to clear their schedules sufficiently for participation.
