Dear UUCGN Members and Friends,

We on the Social Justice Committee want to thank you for your participation in the selection of our Social Justice Charity Partner for the years 2019-2021.

After completing a successful three-year partnership with NAACP & FGCU of Southwest Florida, the Social Justice Committee decided last spring to ask our members for their input in selecting our next Charity Partnership. We announced the new process to the congregation in June through the newsletters, the Sunday Blue Sheets, and pulpit announcements, asking that members and friends suggest a non-profit in southwest Florida. Six organizations responded.  The original six have been winnowed down to a finalist list of three by the Social Justice Committee and others from congregational lay leadership.

The congregation has made the final selection.

The charity partner selection is for the next three years.  The contribution from UUCGN has averaged approximately $25,000 or more per year, depending on the success of our Charity Auction & Dinner.  It's a very important decision, and we had 148 people who responded.  THANK YOU ALL VERY VERY MUCH!

All of these organizations provide important services to our community.

We asked you to consider how YOU respond to the respective organizations.  What stirs your heart?  What would motivate YOU to join them either with your time, talent, and/or financial support?  Where do you think our collective financial support would have the most significant impact on our community?
