What We TeacH
We are part of the
Soul Matters Sharing Circle,
Which means our topics in the sanctuary, adult small groups (called Chalice Circles), and children's group sessions are on the same theme, so everyone can talk about the same thing and go deeper over the course of a month.

UUCGN principles
UU Spirit play curriculum
as a chalice of our
seven principles
- 1Spirit Play is a Montessori method of religious exploration originally based on the work of Jerome Berryman in his work Godly Play, for Episcopal Churches. Spirit Play was adapted for Unitarian Universalists. The curriculum is based in ritual and story, play and creativity. Children are allowed to wonder and ask the existential questions and choose art response afterwards. Just as we all have different responses to a story or a poem, children do too and their artistic endeavors will be different too.
- 2Spirit Play gives children the time to ask their own questions and seek meaning in their lives within a safe and sacred space.
- 3Children are given the opportunity to use their creative and critical thinking skills through art, science, music, and story.
- 4In Spirit Play, classes are multi-age groups.
